Few years ago the improvement of body regions was achieved entirely through surgical procedures. Today there are many possibilities to act on different areas of the body without surgery, with minimally invasive procedures and limited side effects. These procedures could be grouped under the name “Aesthetic Medicine”.

These procedures are able to:

  • reduce or eliminate facial wrinkles
  • increase or redefine the volume of lips
  • improve the appearance of the nose
  • improve the profile of the chin
  • rejuvenate facial skin
  • rejuvenate the skin of other aesthetically sensitive regions such as legs and buttocks
  • eliminate superficial veins in the legs

Nowadays Aesthetic Medicine is constantly growing. The key of its success is the brevity of the procedures, the minimal invasivity, the immediate benefits and the rapid recovery (usually few minutes or hours).

In my clinical practice I use high quality materials, tested by international scientific literature and more than a decade of experience. For the same reason, I avoid new products, preferring widely tested materials of proven quality.

Aesthetic Medicine also employs the most advanced technology of pulsed light and radio frequencies, in order to:

  • give firmness to the skin
  • remove fine wrinkles, often untreatable with other methods
  • eliminate capillaries or skin spots
  • achieve a semi-permanent hair removal

Aesthetic Medicine: pretend a Certified Plastic Surgeon

Aesthetic Medicine is not a medical specialty, but a branch of Cosmetic Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Those who profess themselves as “Aesthetic Doctors” usually attended only a Master of few weeks and are not Plastic Surgeons nor Specialists.

I therefore recommend, whatever will be your choice, to consider the qualifications of the “aesthetic practitioner” before undergoing any aesthetic procedure, even a dermal filler. When performed by Plastic Surgeons, Aesthetic Medicine has few complications and high satisfaction rates. According to a survey conducted by RealSelf.com on 800 patients, those who underwent procedures of aesthetic medicine performed by Certified Surgeon reported a satisfaction score significantly higher (25% or more) compared to those who went to non-specialists. The procedures analyzed include botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid fillers. The same is true for surgical procedures, such as rhinoplasty, liposuction, eyelid surgery or facelift.
